Chip is the puppy that picked me. I had a hard time deciding between two males I fell in love with from this litter. Chip made the decision for me. That night he gave attitude as if he understood my anguish and told me in his own way, "Pick Me!". To this day I have never regretted it. He is my total love. He has a tremendous heart and will do anything I ask him to. I absolutely love him! He is my best understanding of unconditional love.

Chip is Eyes for Ewe Border Collies' first home bred Champion. Chip was shown mostly in the Bred by Exhibitor classes. We showed sporadically through out 2002 and 2003. He was the first dog I ever handled and we learned together. The breed ring was not my cup of tea. As anyone that saw me then can tell you, I was a bucket of nerves the entire time. Susan and Reggie Moorehead of Brookridge Australian Shepherds and Karen Yolen-Bryant also handled him when I could not be at the shows due to work conflicts. He finished in September 2003.
Chip is also titled in flyball. He was known as a bull in a china shop by those loading the box for him. He has a LOT of power! He sported the shaved look in the summer to make him more aerodynamic :-). His fastest time is 4.5 but he has been known to take a slower route and enjoy the scenery when he chooses. He is loving referred to as "fat boy on vacation" when he decides to lope down the lane. He is just so happy to be a part of the game. He loves to do flyball!! Chip is retired now from the flyball lanes.
He has been on sheep and absolutely loves them. While he is very gentle and steady on the sheep he still showing a lot of heading instinct that we are working on directing. He began training in 2006 and debuted in April 2006, earning his PTtitle. In July 2006 he earned his Junior Herding Dog under Debbie and Roy Johnson.
Chip is the resident puppysitter here. He is great with the little ones and shows how loving and tender he really is! He begins playing with and socializing them when they are 3-4 weeks old.
Chip has also tried out weight pulling. He pulled 780
pounds in a fun pull when he was 20 months old! Chip debuted in Rally Obedience Novice B over Memorial Day Weekend 2007. He qualified in 3 consecutive trials earning a 96, 94 and 100. He even managed a 3rd place honor one day. |
